- Terroir: A blend from 5 different sites; 3 from Markgräflerland (loess-loam), 1 from a cool east-facing site in Bahlingen am Kaiserstuhl (volcanic clay-loess), and 1 from the Bleuwen vineyard in Badenweiler Römerberg (thin clay soil over Jurassic limestone and calcareous marl).
- Viticulture: Biodynamic (not certified), planted with German and French clones.
- Vinification: 50% whole cluster, 2-3-week fermentation in tank, minimal extraction, 1 foot punch-down before pressing, aged for 11 months in used Burgundian barrels, no fining, no filtration, minimal SO2 addition before bottling (5-10 ppm).
