- Terroir: From the monopole La Martinière in Rochefort Sur Loire, at the foot of the hillside on the right bank of the Layon river (humid, good for Botrytis), steep slope (30-40% grade), south and southwest-facing, stony soil with Briovérien schists, sandstones and puddingstones.
- Viticulture: Organic (Ecocert), biodynamic (Biodyvin). 5,000 vines/ha, grazed by sheep twice throughout the winter, manual de-budding and leaf pulling, low yields.
- Vinification: Botrytized grapes picked in multiple passes, pressed for 8+ hours with whole clusters, settled, fermentation and aging for 10 months in 400 L barrels (some new), filtered with diatomaceous earth, SO2 added before bottling.
