Additional Info
The Bruandières slope has long held a high reputation: “The vineyards that produce superior quality are the Coulée de Serrant and La Rousselière in Savennières; Le Clos Des Bruandières in St Aubin de Lugné and Les Quarts de Chaume in Rochefort…”
In the 1950s, when the Anjou appellation system was created, Chenin Blanc was thought of in terms of terroir, the way each grower worked, the resulting wines, rather than placing the variety in one camp or another (dry vs. sweet). With this dry wine from Clos Des Bruandières we observe one of the many diverse expressions of Chenin from the terroirs of the Layon, from the driest to the sweetest, according to the vintage, the parcel, and the grower’s intuition.
